Whiteburn Sponsors Competition at Innerleithen Pipe Band Championships
We are pleased to have agreed sponsorship of the March, Strathspey and Reel competition which includes the best Drum corps at this year’s Innerleithen Pipe Band Championships, as part of our commitment to playing a key role in the community of the village.
This will give us the opportunity to engage directly with the local Innerleithen community, and the chance to promote our plans for the redevelopment of the former Caerlee Mill , following the submission of detailed planning application for 44 new build houses and flats to the Scottish Borders Council.
Members of the Whiteburn team will be at the Championships throughout the day to give information about the housing proposals and to seek opinion on potential uses for the former Mill buildings, as Eve McCurrich, Director adds: “We are pleased to be able to support the 16th Innerleithen Pipe Band Championships and to get involved in supporting the local community. “Being part of this popular event will give our team the opportunity to showcase our proposals and to canvass ideas for the Mill buildings, which will play such an important part of our proposed future development of Caerlee Mill. We fully appreciate what a central part The Mill played in village life, and we want to ensure that our proposals for the overall development including the Mill buildings are respectful of its heritage and we believe that it could provide an opportunity to live in the centre of the village.”
The Innerleithen Pipe Band Championships takes place at St Ronan’s Primary School, Innerleithen on 9 September 2017 from 10am. Feel free to pop along to the Whiteburn stall to chat to one of the team.
