Whiteburn’s Managing Director goes back to school

Our MD Eve McCurrich was a guest at the High School of Dundee for their series of lunchtime careers talks for their Form 5 & 6 group. Eve spoke about her career route into our industry from school together with the variety of work in her 30-year career; from working at Sizewell B nuclear power station as a sponsored undergraduate, on to dispute resolution, working for Taylor Wimpey, to designing, transporting & constructing the only Ariel Assault course and climbing wall in Dubai, to her role today leading the expansion of our award winning residential business.

Principal Teacher of Pastoral Care and Support Chris Allan said “We were most grateful to Eve for giving up her time to come into school to deliver a most insightful talk into home building, construction and infrastructure, as part of our Form 5 & 6 mini-lecture series. As part of her talk Eve detailed the 47 professions, plus all of our construction trades needed to build just one house – see our slide!

We hope she sparked the imagination of the pupils to join the built environment in their career…
